Lest Best

Lest Best is specialised in courses Dutch for foreigners. We organise private lessons and group courses for beginners to very advanced students. All our groups are small; the maximum number of participants is six. All our courses focus on training communicative skills. Most of our students have only recently settled in the Netherlands, while others have been working and living here for several years, but still want to improve their command of Dutch. We organise courses for companies, non profit organisations and individuals. We offer lessons at our location, but it is also possible to organise in-company courses. We are located at Bedrijvencentrum Vondelparc II Vondellaan 106 in Utrecht, which can be easily reached by public transport. There are parking facilities for visitors.

Target groups

The courses for beginners are geared towards people who have recently come to live in the Netherlands and need Dutch at work and in their private life. Our lessons make you familiar with the Dutch language but also with the society. The courses for advanced students are designed for people who have been living in the Netherlands for a longer period, but who still have some difficulties with the language, for instance at work. The purpose of these lessons is to improve your writing and speaking skills and to enlarge your vocabulary. yoa can choose between group courses and individual training group courses you have the option of an individual training.

The lessons

The lessons are taught in Dutch. When necessary, grammar can be explained in English especially in the courses for beginners. The various skills speaking, reading, listening and writing will be practiced sufficiently, and in a varied way. During the lessons the teacher will correct you in a positive, stimulating way. The focus will be on a correct use of grammar and spelling and a correct pronunciation.

Individual language training

Central to the individual language training are the specific requirements of the student. The training is characterized by a goal-oriented individual approach, geared to the participant’s specific demands and command of the language. Individual training can correspond very well with the professional background and needs of the student. In this way it is possible to attain a fast and effective learning process. Lesson hours will be arranged by mutual agreement. The client will also indicate if this is to be an intensive, short training or a less intensive, long training. There are no fixed starting dates for the individual courses. Generally, you can start very soon after the intake procedure.

Group courses

There are group courses on various levels. Evening courses for beginners are held once a week. The courses for beginners last 10 weeks. The duration of each lesson is 2,5 hours. Advanced courses are normally held twice a week for day classes and once a week for evening classes but it is possible to deviate from this by mutual agreement. The course focuses on training communicative skills. Because of the limited group size it is possible to cater for the participants ' specific, individual needs and problems. Group courses will only start after sufficient enrolment.

In-company training

Our Dutch courses can be organized at our location but also in-company for Utrecht and surroundings, both for individuals and groups. After careful consultation with the client and a visit to the organization a course program me is developed in accordance with the requirements. Lesson times and the duration of the course are arranged by mutual agreement. It is also possible to choose between an intensive, short training and a less intensive, long training.

Intake

Before you take part in a course or training there is an intake procedure for everyone who’s not a beginner. The intake usually consists of an interview and a written and oral test. In the interview the client's requirements and the purpose of the training are discussed. The tests assess the client’s command of the language. In case of an individual training, a programme is designed based on the outcome of these tests and interview. Group participation is also based on the outcome of these tests.

Individual training per hour 55 euro private rate / 60 euro company rate
Group training per hour 30 ( two participants) 20 euro ( three or more )
In-company training from 80 euro(depending on the number of participants)
